Belarusian Druzhba operator says finishes pipeline cleaning early
MINSK, Jul 12 (PRIME) -- Gomeltransneft-Druzhba, the Belarusian operator of the oil pipeline system Druzhba, has completed cleaning of the pipeline from dirty Russian oil ahead of plan, the company said in a statement on Friday.
“On July 11, all operations to replace poor-quality oil in the trunk pipelines and in the reservoir park on the territory of Belarus were completed. The pipeline was cleaned from the border of the republic till the Unecha line production and supervision base in the Russian Federation,” the company said.
The problem with the quality of oil coming from Russia to Europe across Belarus via the pipeline appeared in April. The crude was contaminated with chlorides.
